And more to come…
I’m really glad this game took off like it has, it seems well made and fairly original (to my knowledge). I gave it a good shot and it is just not my kind of game but I had a good time seeing what it had to offer in the first act. Definitely a gorgeous game with an immersive feel
It’s genuinely one of my all time favourite games, prolly in my top 10. It’s just sooooo good to play and somehow I love it, it’s absolutely captured me even with its (few) flaws
How playable is it on the Deck?
I tried it on Windows on the deck and it wasn’t what I’d call playable. I have relatively high framerate standards, but…it was like 15fps. Might be better on Linux.
What did work decently was streaming it from my XBox Series X via XBPlay.
I’m on Linux with an old AMD Pioneer (?) video card, and I find the game playable, but just barely, and that’s after changing the Proton version to match the steamdb recommendations.
There’s some visual glitches and definitely low frame rates, but I’m through the second Axon and past the barrier.
Parrying is hard for me, but I just play on Story difficulty and still have fun.
This is so exciting! I definitely did not expect any more content out of this game so it’s a huge surprise. Will be awesome to jump back in.
I just hope that the challenge level of the new fights feels appropriate eg level 99.
I just watched the playthrough and there’s already a film adaptation in the works.
Robert Pattinson for Gustave or riot
The characters should honestly be played by French actors and actresses. It should generally be a French production, that’s part of the charme of the game.
Ugh I agree with the both of you, Pattinson can speak with a French accent, no?

!patientgamers@sh.itjust.works just cant stop winning
Just picked this up in the Steam sale, looking forward to diving into it as the nights draw in.
You won’t regret it - it took me until I was 80% through to realize it was the best thing I’ve played in many many years, and I’m still grinding endgame content because I can’t imagine parting with it
I think I got fed up with how feast or famine the combat was. They wear FromSoft inspirations on their sleeves, but in those games, you can safely hang back and observe behaviors and patterns before you go in and try to dodge and parry and take them down. The wider normal dodge window did not seem to serve this purpose in this game, unless there’s some crucial mechanic that I completely missed. Often times, trying to dodge while learning the patterns, I’d lose a character to a single attack with intentionally tricky timing, and it would be easier to throw the fight and restart than it was to try to get them back in the fight and get my strategy up and running to deal damage. Then, of course, once I know the patterns, the fight is over in like 3 turns, and I take no damage at all.
This is why I ran Lune in party as a healer for 95% of the game. Layering healing pictos results in healing / revives that buffs the party too. If I couldnt survive that long enough to practice parries then I felt underleveled and would go explore elsewhere, upgrade weapons, etc.
Yeah once you get some decent pictos on, you can build little engines for constant auto-healing by mid-game, and then dodging becomes less essential. The dodging for endgame bosses gets almost ridiculous and so your picto strategy becomes critical.
I admit I was annoyed by the unfairness of dying to a pattern I haven’t learned yet early on, but you learn to work around it - and I say this as someone who detests QTEs and games with dodging 😂
I need to reinstall this mf game when it comes out I didn’t expect this lol
I played on game pass but canceled my subscription after the price hike. if they release DLC i’ll straight up buy the game just to play it
I’m still hoping for a “Definitive Edition” type update eventually. There are some parts that could definitely do with a retouching or restructure, the final act in particular.
Wow. Amazing to see them do this.
Can’t wait to try it out.
The better be more awesome new music to accompany everything too!
