It’s hilarious that China now stands for International Rule Of Law and the US stands for Piracy and Genocide.
It’s almost as if one of these nations has an ancient and deeply ingrained tradition of legalism and the other makes international law simply to use as a weapon against weaker powers
If china cut a deal with venezuela it would get cheap oil and could protect its ships. I think the US ‘department of war’ may just be accellerating the shifting of world power against the US.
My country will still align with the USA citing “rules based global order”
This counts only if the US does it. If it was China, it would count as “a violation of the rules based global order”
the best part that your country will do this because the USA used it leveraged in the recent past to force your country to become amenable to it.
ITT: Western chauvinists looking at US abuse, grasping at straws to blame China
That’s their standard go-to line now: they can’t argue that the West is good anymore, it’s become too obvious that it’s not, so now they always resort to “but everyone else does it!”
usa using the same tactics as Iran and the Houthis, but somehow okay
It’s only more of the epstein shuffle. Those ships will be given back very soon now. It’s his last ditch effort before the compost hits the Cuisinart.
I wish liberals were capable of seeing the actual complexities of the world instead of thinking every single goddamned thing is actually explainable by one thing ever.
This is all to distract us from the Mueller investigation
No shit.
Technically correct, but laws are only real in so far as they are enforced.
And china, russia, and the US break them constantly. We’ve been at a point of no respect for global rules-based order for a long time now.
One of those is not like the others. What international law has China broken lately? Russia has one strike w/ Ukraine (technically against international law ig regardless of whether you agree with their reasoning). Meanwhile the US breaks international law every week and has been doing so for decades.
The stuff happening in South China Sea probably counts
Hardly. You can’t just claim that because you only recognized for example the confederate states as the true United States during the civil war, that after the civil war is lost, that the Florida keys should now go to Cuba and then help the confederates to flee to Peurto Rico and declare that to be it’s own country.
Russia invaded Chechnya and committed an atrocious genocide in 1999-2000, invaded Georgia in 2008, then invaded Crimea 2014, then the Donbass in 2015. The full scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 is not the start of history. Russia has plenty to things to hold them accountable of, even more if you go back into the cold war era and after world war 2. Not to mention their daily attacks on civilians in Ukraine.
China is currently illegally occupying Tibet since 1951 and it is daily committing crimes against humanity on the Muslim minority Uyghur in the Xinjiang. They have illegally claimed ownership of the South China sea (simply a formal name and does not mean it belongs to them) and are daily harassing and ramming fishing boats from other nations who have legal rights to fish there, a blatant breach against international laws.
These two nations break against international laws every single day. They are just like the USA. The difference is that USA pretends to be a law abiding democracy, while China and Russia doesn’t. They are both unapologetic dictatorships with nothing but malice and ill intent for everyone but themselves.
In all four circumstaces you have US meddling with democratic rule. Chechnya went from newly formed democracy to Russia-isolated dictatorship in a blink of an eye and immediately killed the regional Russian leader, which was absolutely not what people voted for. Georgia attacked a Russian majority area. Ukraine attacked the Russian majority area in the Donbass in 2015. Crimea did not get invaded. It declared independence, because their then current leader was unelected.
China liberated Tibet since 1951 by popular demand. People were sick and tired of their absolutely brutal theocratic leader enslaving most of their populace and invited China to take control over their nation as long as they could rule as an autonomous region. The Uyghurs are a majority group in autonomous Xinjiang. What’s a minority is the ISIS-affiliated terrorist group that want a theocratic state. The South China sea was agreed upon during world war II. The US is being a sore loser because the communist party has practically won the civil war.
The US has invaded Iraq, killed over a million people based on a complete and total lie. The US invaded Afghanistan to find a terrorist. He wasn’t there. The US invaded Libya, because they didn’t like the way Ghadaffi ran his country. The US plotted coups in every Arab nation and then called that “the Arab spring”, because they weren’t considere loyal enough to the US empire.
The US is being a sore loser protecting the Chinese Republicans that fled to Taiwan, because the communist party has practically won the civil war. The US is starting a war with Venezuela based on lies of drug trafficking, but recently being more honest that it simply wants to destroy that nation so that they can steal all of its oil.One is not the same to the other two.
Lazy af imperialist propagandist:

No hungarian tankdriving nazi slayers.

No mega biased fact check.
Ha.
Unlike international law, the “rules-based order” doesn’t even exist. It’s a thing the US made up. It’s just a euphemism for doing what the US tells you. The US makes up the rules and expects countries to follow them. Why the hell should China or Russia play the US’ game of Calvinball?

Genuinely pathetic in the psychological sense
Westerners always assume that, just because they break international law constantly, their enemies must as well.
Not for no reason: the mighty wurlitzer tells them this over & over to induce hoplessness or apathy.
Tell Putin I said he needs to go and neck himself. Make the world a nicer place, hey. Cheers.

I don’t think global order has ever really existed.
Not really. The leaders of countries defile them constantly and nobody is every truly punished.
i hope that watching the only other world power resort to sternly written letters both w this and gaza like some feckless democrat is not a portent of things to come.
“no, we meant it as a compliment!”
Everyone including these assholes know that what they’re doing is illegal, the only reason they’re spinning it as copesthetic is to make themselves appear to be the good guys… they know no one is going to do shit about it except “bitch and moan because TDS.”
Sorry…”copacetic”
Thank you. I thought it looked funny, but autocorrect didn’t acknowledge it as an error. I appreciate you.
i thought it was a coined term for cope and aesthetics lol
…when I leave empty beer cans on the counter for copaesthetic.
Aww, shit. Here we go again
What a time to live in where we agree with china on the issue of international law…
China has consistently been far more respectful of International Law than the West has been.
yes, china, the country that is so famous for its wide and complex history of international conflicts, oh right, that’s not china, it’s the usa which has been in war every year since it’s genocided the aborigines and inspired hitler in doing so. you westerners live in a parallel universe sustained by the suffering of the global south
