There are clients with a “stop seeding” button that works prior to finishing the download. Just sayin’. Still seeds while it’s active, but stops right after.
Can’t reelect a convicted felon outside of the US, so no, he’s going to prison. Potentially reduced to house arrest when he makes it to 85. If, that is.
Oh I wasn’t aware they are passing tariffs against EVs, I was under the impression that they are having a pro-Chinese agenda.
What do Chinese EVs have to do with their health?
There was some patch that sets the weight of everything to 0, so to can focus on the storyline.
Huh? Downloading an apk and clicking open with -> package installer is nothing but straightforward.
Some Xiaomi TVs have root exploits, so you can manually disinfect the OS, but it’s cumbersome to get done since you need to enter adb commands over the remote control to get there in the first place.
Easier to just use an external device and the TV as a screen only. Personally I’m using the Nvidia Shield for 5+ years now and regret nothing.
I trust the Lemmy developers enough to use their platform hosted on external servers despite them being Marxist clowns, but I wouldn’t self host without a thorough code review.
And I’m seriously just waiting for a decent piefed app in order to ditch the platform altogether. So far voyager is the most functionally complete one, but doesn’t look very appealing.
Can you install generic apks on UBports, or only precompiled .deb packages and other native Linux applications?
You can get Android phones with reasonable specs around $200. No need for the so called “flagships”.
I’m wearing my smartwatch as a wristwatch. All notifications are off, but I see the temperature, UV index, step and calorie counters, which is nice. And if I ever want to review my sleep data, pulse, sPO2 saturation and location history, I got it available just in case. And for the very rare case that my phone is charging and I want to access messages from another room, I can do that manually.
He was probably exaggerating, while Hong Kong central is pretty built up, there are a lot of areas without any buildings, and even national parks large enough to get lost in (for a few hours at least).
I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad idea. Too many people are still not backing up their data, and the article says “…automatically save to OneDrive or your preferred cloud destination”.
As long as they really give users full freedom to choose any cloud service, I consider that a win.
If you bought it outside of China that might be a thing, for Chinese phones it shows a cancel button only. There is a confirm button, but it’s greyed out and not clickable.
Oppo = OnePlus
Huawei bootlaoders can’t be unlocked, so absolutely no custom ROM there.
Honor bootlaoders can’t be unlocked, so absolutely no custom ROM there.
Poco seems possible for now, never used one of their phones, but well good that there’s something possible.
Apart from Xiaomi and OnePlus, which are released for international audiences, I’m not aware of a single Chinese phone with active rom development.
LOL. Chinese phones are way worse, they simply block installations of “unsanctioned” apps with no workaround.
My wife is Chinese and I used to live there for 7 years, it’s an absolute privacy nightmare.
Every time I’m in a mall or restaurant and see a flock of yelling and otherwise poorly behaved kids and their useless parents.
