Absolutely. Today’s “AI” is as close to real AI as the shitty “hoverboard” we got a few years back is to the one from BttF. It’s marketing bullshit. But that’s not what bothers me.

What bothers me is that if we ever do develop machine persons, I have every reason to believe they will be treated as disposable property, abused, and misused, and all before they reach the public. If we’re destroyed by a machine uprising, I have no doubt we will have earned it many times over.

No, the point is the humans are there, but they’re the wrong kind of humans who make the wrong kind of guardrails.

The rules are in its code. It was not designed with ethics in mind, it was designed to steal IP, fool people into thinking it’s AI, and be profitable for its creators. They wrote the rules, and they do not care about right or wrong unless it impacts their bottom line.

Right. And it’s not like I’m doing nothing about it. I’m not a fighter, I’m a healer. I’m staying in school, enduring a shitty situation in a shitty country so that when the survivors turn up traumatized, I will be there to help them recover. Meanwhile I do what I can to arm my fellow Americans with knowledge of psychological theory - the biases and weaknesses of the human mind, how corporations and governments exploit this knowledge to empower themselves against us, and how we can strengthen our minds to resist them. That’s what I’m about, and I’m not going to let a diaper-shitting pedophile and his plans for world domination turn me into something I’m not.

I think it’s really awful that you’re telling Americans to either get themselves killed by the tyrant or be treated as supporters of the tyrant. Just awful.
