Accidentally spill water in your bed and the next thing you know you’re getting adult diaper ads on every device you own for the rest of your life.

It’s already far deeper than him… he’s just what bubbled to the surface in that pot.
If they actually believe that bullshit, chances are pretty good they’re already harming their kids psychologically at the very least.
Ya I get what you mean, it doesn’t always work out for everyone without getting the word out traditionally, but it does happen.
Personally I think advertising only goes so far before a company just starts looking desperate by saturating the landscape with ads. Maybe that’s just me tho lol
While some now invest in some level of traditional advertising, it’s not what made them big. As you said with Tesla, they only started advertising when people started realizing they were crap, and even then compared to other vehicle manufacturers they spend little. Go Pro used influencers and content marketing by their customers, the Dollar Shave Club made it to fame through viral videos.

I don’t know about that. Tiktok, Lamborghini, Tesla, Krispy Kreme, The Dollar Shave Club, Tupperware, Rolls Royce, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Go Pro etc all do little to no traditional advertising and do just fine.
Not that there’s anything wrong with some advertising to get the word out, but when you’re getting spammed with ads from every angle, that company starts feeling a little scummy to me.
The way I’ve always looked at it, a good product/service can typically stand on it’s reputation. If a company needs to spend millions on advertising to move their stuff, they’re probably not all that good or are overpriced. Someone is paying for all that advertising and it always ends up being the consumer.

Not sure if I am but thank you, I always try to help anyone who needs it. My buddy is terrible at fixing things, so I’ve been doing a lot of work for him and his mom.

If it was planned out and some beer was involved it would have been a lot better IMO… I had already spent the entire morning mowing my buddy’s yard and trimming trees for him, so my batteries were already low before all that happened.

Last Sunday. A friend asked me to go with him to town, normally I say no but I figured I would just because I usually don’t.
We went to town and went to a store. As we were about to leave, his truck wouldn’t start. (The starter was fried.) Ended up having to walk a mile and a half to his nephew’s place, then got a ride back to my friend’s truck, towed it to his brother’s shop, and after borrowing some tools I ended up pulling the starter off a car in the middle of a field, and installing it in his truck so we could finally head back home.
What was supposed to be an enjoyable hour or so ended up taking most of the afternoon and I ended up covered in oil and mud and sore as hell by the time I finally got back to my house.

Ah ok… can’t say I’m terribly surprised.

I’ve seen mention of https://cdn.imgpile.com/ on imgur but it’s… uh… a work in progress to say the least. Although I’m not sure if they’re European or not.

What were they saying? I missed it

Varies wildly for me but usually whenever the opportunity presents itself, although it mostly ends up being cats. I always have cat food and water outside near my back door for strays. Two days ago I brought a can of wet food for a feral momma and her kittens on the other end of town. (Trying to make friends with mom, but not much luck so far.) Was leaving veggies out for a deer that was living in my backyard this spring until she moved on. Occasionally put stuff out for the birds when I can. I also don’t mow certain sections of my yard and my daughter’s yard much because the bees love the clover that grows in those spots.

That was my first thought… who makes up the other 17%? Journalists and the occasional hamas guy?

Depending on the thrift store, they may not want it unless it has an OS. The ones in my area won’t take computers that won’t boot up into something. (They’re not at all tech literate and will just toss them.)
I snagged a perfectly good laptop out of their dumpster for that reason… just had to toss an OS on it and it ran for years.

And they will know what you look like. And with some data extrapolation where you are, where you go, your searches, what you’re into, your payment methods, where you live, your schedule, who you interact with, and the list goes on.
This is one more data point for big brother to collect and share with the highest bidder, or to get leaked to people who do not have your best interests in mind.

When I was a teen I loved all their stuff, including the shows… but I get what you mean. Numerous times I’ve tried introducing it to friends only to be met with blank stares because they didn’t quite understand the comedy of it. Sucks to be them.
If anyone could pull that off, it would be Robin.
