I’ve been dreaming of this since the first steam controller released! I absolutely loved the first one but it definitely had it’s quirks and issues. This seems just like the upgrade that I wished for in every way possible with some nice additional stuff on top. I just hope it won’t be $100+

The title sounds weird because it’s word gore, not because of the implied meaning. Try reading what you’ve written.

Nah, there’s a lot of text guides too. But the problem is that they’re often just copied from one source that somehow manages to get basic shit wrong every damn time. And videos definitely have their place, so many times I’ve first searched for a text guide and only got more confused. As long as the videos are short and to the point I always appreciate them. Found some great channels that way that have helped me through several games.

Planet crafter - Holy shit is that game janky, ugly, badly designed etc.
Conan Exiles - I did enjoy it for a while, but it quickly becamse such a chore since so little is explained so you spend so much time having to look things up, and even then it’s often not obvious what to do. I payed solo, and there is a point where doing that just feels impossible, I ended up wanting to cheat to do some things and that’s a point I never cross so I just stopped playing.
I really want to play some game like those; survival with base building, exploration etc, But I think I’ve exhausted the list of ones that are good enough for me. I’ve played Minecraft, Terraria, Star Bound, Enshrouded, Subnautica, Grounded, Valheim, Satisfactory, Factorio, The Forest and more that I’m not remembering right now. There are some that are in early access that I’m interested in but I’ve stopped playing EA games, I now always wait till full release.
If anyone has any suggestions I’d be very happy, I’m craving something to dive deep into. I’m only interested in Single player games through, at least ones that can be played as such.

Yeah, but that is the case for a LOT of murder done by both states and individuals. I’m in no way saying that to lessen how bad it is, if anything it should give people pause to reflect on how bad many things they don’t see as bad are.

I don’t see what’s weird about it, if they are aware of it and possibly have other things that take priority what else could they say? They were just truthful and straight to the point. It’s extremely hard to handle all feedback and stuff from a community as solo/indie devs, it’s not easy on any level for that matter. If you took several seconds more and emotional effort to be super nice to every single person who interacts with your game we wouldn’t have any games releasing at all. It’s important to keep your responses to a minimum while also making it clear what the situation is. I think that was a good reply, not offensive at all and made you understand that they know and will fix it.

The major obstacle for me is recommend videos as I almost exclusively use that and youtube knows what to show me (good factual science channels, nothing with AI used at all, gaming and tech news, essays and documentaries etc.) and no other app than the official youtube one does that as far as I’m aware. (I use ReVanced though). I’ve really tried to jump over to newpipe and grayjay but I miss so much and never discover any new channels through them.

From the little I’ve seen (or more had to be exposed to) they are 100% convinced that Lemmy is like 10 people and nothing else exists. They’re so walled in, much of those walls being built by themselves.
On a vaguely related note, reddit has been so deeply shit now for long enough where it has stopped being a good source of info. It used to be such a good place to find just about any info via a search but now the results are just so fucking weird. Trying to find stuff about new-ish games, tech support, recommendations for anything etc. has become so much harder now.

I live in a small apartment, and when standing in the middle of the kitchen you can see almost all of if. So when I have new people over I like to ask if they want a tour then point to that spot and tell them to go there, then I say “ok, look around, that’s everything! Nice, huh?” There are generally only two different reactions: “Haha! Yeah, it is nice!” or “Oh, come on, it’s not that bad!”. I never say it in a way that makes it sound like I think it’s bad or too small, but people who have the second reaction generally like bigger and “more”.
It’s the perfect size for me, wouldn’t choose a bigger one even for the same price.

Yep, we almost always find out the worst shit many years after it happened. And I’m pretty sure the absolutely worst stuff just never comes out.

4000 bookmarks is nothing, neither is 12gb. I seriously don’t understand how anyone could think even jokingly saying that’s “the whole internet”.

Not familiar with the host, but he looks like if Alton Brown and James Corden had a baby.

It’s definitely not only that.
I and, from what I’ve seen discussed here and elsewhere online, many other people have stopped watching the channel because of many valid reasons completely unrelated to AI.
I haven’t watched a single one of their videos for years, something changed in their content and I just lost interest. Then there have been several controversial events throughout the years, both objective bad stuff and subjective things that made many loose interest and faith in their integrity.
They definitely became one of the many channels that lost it’s way because of how big it got. The animations became too “perfect” in a weird way, they lost their personality and they also got scared of having real opinions so they started doing this “all sides” shit and that’s when I tapped out.
I’ve tried to watch new videos from them about once every 6 months or so, but I can’t even make it past a minute without completely loosing interest.

Then don’t do that thing, leave it where it can cleaned up by someone you paid to clean it up or only bring things where the trash you leave behind is environmentally friendly and can degrade naturally. There is absolutely no valid reason you can give for this. You’re literally excusing hurting nature because someone decided to do something that they couldn’t handle, how does that make sense?
*What do you call this

Eh, I think it’s just what always happens: they act like children in the way that they do shit to see what they can get away with.
The reasons for doing so are harder to know, and never exactly the same but generally rooted in hate, fear and narcissim. They start doing shit and examine how the world reacts, then tiptoes the line of what would bring out actual response and get them killed or in any other way stopped.
Then it’s about if they get to some kind of place where they feel comfortable and don’t push it more or they get overconfident and actually do step over the line and get shut down by any of the many possible ways that can happen.
This happens everywhere all the time in all different levels possible. Between two toddlers at a play date, bosses and their employees all the way to countries and world powers. And in our fictional stories (and possible futures) between planets, solar systems, galaxies and whole universes.

Why watch playthroughs at all? Just wait till the games are on sale. And only a year isn’t that long, wait more and get better deals with more complete games. There’s nothing saying you need to hurry in any way, and several things saying it’s a good idea to wait. There are more than enough games available for anyone to not have to constantly claw at the newest releases in any way.
Ah, the 'Murican stereotype of ignoring the fact that a person might not be American. You just default to believing everyone online is in the US and it never stops being both hilarious and infuriating. You’re doing a great job at proving Americans are dumb as fuck.
