  • The tram I was on with my dad and little sister struck a woman, she had an umbrella open so she didn’t see the tram (it was a sunny summer day). It cracked her head open and I’ll never forget that sound. The driver panicked and only opened the front door of the tram, right where the woman was laying on the ground, so we were forced to walk out of the tram and jump over the pool of blood gushing from her head. My dad tried to make us not look but I saw the hole in her head, and her brain. I was 10 and my sister 8.
She died on the way to the hospital.
And I just realised I now live in the apartment building right by the tram tracks where it happened, haven’t thought about that memory for a long time.

  • This thread showed up like it was meant for me in this very moment as I’m currently laying in my sofa and blasting this on high volume and drowning in the vibe:

Afro Celt Sound System - Volume 2: Release (Real World Gold)

Haven’t heard anything truly like it so I think it fits the thread.

This album has been with me since my childhood.
My mom used to house sit this crazy special house during the summers around 1998-2005 that belongs to a clay sculpture artist, my mom discovered this band there and loved this album especially.
It was mostly my mom, me (born 1990) and my little sister (born 1992) in the middle of the woods all summer break in this absolutely dream like house, it’s something out of a movie really.
A lot of the house was built by the artist dude, with tons of handmade clay sculptures, mosaics, wooden details of animals and twisted tree logs built into the structure. The sides of the road through the woods to the house was filled with totem poles, human-ish figures and other sculptures.
We just enjoyed the woods and the house, made clay art and nice food, went bathing in the river and took care of the garden.
There are so many deeply connected smells, sounds, sights and feelings in me to that house, it really affected me in a great way.
I so wish I could post photos of it but I have no contact with the owner and don’t want to do it without his permission.

  • Planet crafter - Holy shit is that game janky, ugly, badly designed etc.

Conan Exiles - I did enjoy it for a while, but it quickly becamse such a chore since so little is explained so you spend so much time having to look things up, and even then it’s often not obvious what to do. I payed solo, and there is a point where doing that just feels impossible, I ended up wanting to cheat to do some things and that’s a point I never cross so I just stopped playing.

I really want to play some game like those; survival with base building, exploration etc, But I think I’ve exhausted the list of ones that are good enough for me. I’ve played Minecraft, Terraria, Star Bound, Enshrouded, Subnautica, Grounded, Valheim, Satisfactory, Factorio, The Forest and more that I’m not remembering right now. There are some that are in early access that I’m interested in but I’ve stopped playing EA games, I now always wait till full release.

If anyone has any suggestions I’d be very happy, I’m craving something to dive deep into. I’m only interested in Single player games through, at least ones that can be played as such.

  • I don’t see what’s weird about it, if they are aware of it and possibly have other things that take priority what else could they say? They were just truthful and straight to the point. It’s extremely hard to handle all feedback and stuff from a community as solo/indie devs, it’s not easy on any level for that matter. If you took several seconds more and emotional effort to be super nice to every single person who interacts with your game we wouldn’t have any games releasing at all. It’s important to keep your responses to a minimum while also making it clear what the situation is. I think that was a good reply, not offensive at all and made you understand that they know and will fix it.
