One person’s breath play (so gross to minimize it this way) is another person’s sexual violence.
Well, yeah, all forms of sex without consent are rape. This isn’t really saying anything.

Like, I get it, but this but unironically. The UK has already put a bathroom ban out for trans folks. How long before they ban trans porn because it’s considered harmful? How long before they start to label other trans things as adult and ban those too?

I’ve seen this story everywhere but can’t ever find the actual law.

I never said that. But not shocked that you cant read.
Across the world its around 50%, which still aint great. But its not all. People really need to stop talking in absolutes, we arent sith for fucks sake.
Saying “All” is why we have women scared to walk the streets, even though the stats dont back up that claim. Only 25% of sexual assaults on women are done by strangers. The other 75% is done by people that they know, friends and family.

What if I bred animals only to torture them. Would I be evil? Yes. I would. There’s no reason why a “creator and universe-sustaining God” can’t inherently be evil.

But when you look at things like canonization and other religions adding on (like Mormonism) it gets fuzzy. Yes, Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but can you really be certain that each step of the process was 100% correct? You don’t think there’s any room for human error in canonization or translation?

“Women shouldn’t have said ‘yes all women’ because only 25% of sexual assaults are by strangers and only half of all women have experienced assault.” 🙄

Sound like an “all lives matter” type.

To me the “dealing in absolutes” here is insisting that the phrase “yes all women” can’t be used if even a single woman hasn’t been harassed because it’s a “lie” rather than actually listening to what the women are saying and the point they’re trying to make.

I really liked the “yes all women” hashtag response to the “not all men” one. Pointing out the near universal experience of women being harassed (or worse) by a man at some point (often multiple times) in their life.

One search for “women’s rights blue collar” and I find this study, so, false. https://www.jstor.org/stable/26967056
Also, have you not heard of Rosie the Riveter? lol

Why does it matter? If they don’t think something is a bot, how could they be less likely to reply if it’s a bot?

No, not really. It just depends. One of the first things I blocked on Lemmy years ago was the “Lemmit” not which just copied tons of posts verbatim from Reddit. If bots are posting articles, maybe I comment. If a bot posts something discussion oriented, I’m not replying.
Huge caveat, all this is about transparent bots. If I think something is a bit masquerading as a human I don’t reply.

Top level domain. “.com” “.gov” etc. are top level domains. The headline is slightly incorrect.

No, only top level comments specifically.

I hate communities that are hyper strict about pointless things about that. The post volume is rarely enough to justify that level of filtering. Besides, hardware is definitely related to self hosting.

One thing I see a lot of instance specific meta communities that only allow top level comments from users if that instance. Auto removing those form other instances would be useful.
