Early 2000’s Kia here. Not an issue.
Family car is a 2014. Dad asked the other day “How would you feel if we got a hybrid?”
My reply “As long as it doesn’t have a full-time network connection, I’m fine with it”
Next time, I’ll be adding “No internal cameras, no infotainment system, and why buy an old hybrid instead of an old gas car?”
My car was the last year before the model got a new spy stereo. I’m sure it has some in it, but nothing compared to later years and higher trims. I will hang onto it until it starts shooting engine pieces out the exhaust.

This is why I purchased a Suzuki Jimny.
- really stupid ADAS with no connectivity.
- big profile tyres so I can handle the potholes.
- goes anywhere so when the revolution comes I can go bush and avoid the conflict.
I’ve got an ‘08 myself and I’m in the same boat. Gonna keep it at this vintage or older when I need a new one but I’ll drive it till it dies.
