Almost four years ago, I bought Chelsea boots because they’re apparently what Jared Padalecki wore in Supernatural and they looked good there - practicality didn’t enter my mind.

They arrived two days after I got home from the hospital from breaking my ankle. I didn’t put them on.

Yesterday I had to go out in the snow and couldn’t find my Wolverine boots, so I finally put on the Chelsea boots since they provide ankle support and had tread. They were amazingly comfortable and I didn’t slip!

I mean like lace up boots without the zipper on the side. Especially when its made of thick or stiff material I find it really hard to cinch the material tight around my feet, and the laces dig into my hands trying to pull them tight and hold the laces while I get the bow tied

Perhaps “proper” kind of conveys a judgment for shoes that aren’t lace up, I didn’t really think about it till now
