Almost four years ago, I bought Chelsea boots because they’re apparently what Jared Padalecki wore in Supernatural and they looked good there - practicality didn’t enter my mind.

They arrived two days after I got home from the hospital from breaking my ankle. I didn’t put them on.

Yesterday I had to go out in the snow and couldn’t find my Wolverine boots, so I finally put on the Chelsea boots since they provide ankle support and had tread. They were amazingly comfortable and I didn’t slip!

I’ve got a pair of Blundstones, they’re great. I’ve had them for about six years now. They’re a bit scuffed but otherwise in perfect condition. They’ve shaped to my foot and are super comfortable. I’ve got another pair of Chelseas too from a brand I don’t remember, not a big name or anything but they are real leather, they’re also great too. If there wasn’t so much damn snow where I live I’d probably wear Chelseas all the time in the fall-spring. In the summer I wear Vessis (waterproof running shoes, company is Canadian which is why I bought them), they’re my absolute favourite footwear, but they’re obviously not appropriate for Canadian winters. My main winter boots are Sorels (also a Canadian company) and they’re the best winters I’ve ever had. The company has gone downhill a bit but they’re still good.
