Today’s game is some more Halo (Mostly Reach). More? Yeah, we had some friends who weren’t able too join last night so we did some more rounds today. It was fun. We got some friends who are new to Halo joining us too. I think though it may have been unbalanced (I’ve done all the campaigns on Legendary, they touched CE on Normal for maybe a few minutes?). We all had fun though which is what really matters here.

We played a round of infection in Reach, and damn. I love Reach, but the Shotguns in that game can sometimes feel a little ridiculous. I could get sniped from across the map with one by a friend and get my shit kicked in. Still, it resulted in some funny moments.

If you look at the cubby in the above screenshot, my friend also figured out that cubby is actually really broken in Infection, because he could just camp up there and wrack up kills from everyone trying to get him. It was funny, but when he got to 30 kills i had to stop my teammates and go “Okay, guy’s, you’re just feeding him kills”. The issue was that they’re all going at once and soaking up the Shells. What i had them do is instead sacrifice a teammate and then send someone up while he was mid shotgun cocking.

I ended up domination on Beaver Creek with a Sniper Rifle. I perched up there with a Armor Lock. What that did was allow me to tank really any power weapons or grenades thrown my way.

I ended up meeting my end though when i jumped down into the river and got cocky, and was quickly humbled with a stray grenade that took me out.

I did get a sick ass grenade kill though against a friend who took cover on one of those cubbies. I’m pretty sure they’re literally only there for this reason (which, if that’s the case, it’s great level design), but still. It was a satisfying kill.

The final match we did was another Slayer. This one was a bit more balanced, especially since one of our players couldn’t get his controller to work and had to play with Mouse and Keyboard. Not much happened, but the final kill of the round was satisfying. I lobbed a grenade and took both me and another player out. We both got flung into the barrier which was hilarious to me.

We also did a bit of Halo 3 (The Mixin’ It Up playlist to be specific), and it was fun. We were looking for the Moa statues or whatever. Looking at Wort.gg i only have Wheels, Wheels, and More Wheels and LASO Campaign left to do, so i’m kind of tempted to finish these up myself. Me and a friend have been wanting to do LASO together, but it takes so long and is damn near impossible with the time we have, so this might be a fair way to handle it. Then me and him can go back and do it together. This i think is a “Later” kind of thing though, i’m already balancing AC3. I probably shouldn’t add more too my plate.

It’s a good time. A lot of the people in my group swear by CE, but i personally feel like Reach clicks for me (along with 3).

There’s not much better than Reach with the boys.

I completely get that. In a broader sense, It’s just chill to have a PvP game where everyone is just relaxed with eachother. None of us are really trying super hard to win and aren’t really metagaming. It makes for a unique experience. Reach i think was definitely where that made a peak though.

CE probably has my favourite campaign (both solo and co-op), but for PvP it’s definitely Reach for me. It’s also the one I’ve got the most time in by far.

I didn’t get much into Halo 3 for some reason, I’m not sure why. Aside from the campaign, I mostly just stuck with Halo 2 until Reach came out. I was also getting into CoD a bit between playing 2 and Reach so that also sucked some time out of 3. Then after Reach I got super into Battlefield 4 and that was my main PvP without friends but with friends I still mostly played Reach until my friends moved on from it. Now I almost exclusively play single player games, with the exception of one friend who I’ll sometimes play NHL with.
