Halo is a weird kind of magic to me. I can confidently say it’s not nostalgia because I didn’t grow up on it but it’s the first time a shooter has kept me coming back over and over and over again. Most games I can only play once or twice. I think I’d need 6 hands to count the number of times I’ve played Halo’s campaigns

That was our plan, actually. Just with how big the campaigns are too download we weren’t sure we’d have time unfortunately

I can admit it’s largely nostalgia lol. Namely though I’m a fan of the different lighting, the UI, the controller controls, and the older version. It’s hard to find all 4 available for Minecraft. The best I have found so far is a 1.12 modpack that emulates Console version, which while impressive isn’t quite as far back as I’m interested in

I didn’t notice it either until picking up my PS3 and playing my old disk a year ago or so. It’s really jarring once you notice it

The article reminds me of this video I saw on Ladders in Halo CE. It’s interesting to see such a dedication to an otherwise mundane topic. It makes it interesting in its own right I suppose

It’s a lot of little things. The lighting is a little different, controls, the UI, the tutorial world, even some of the content available. There’s some more but those are the major ones. It’s just got a different feel to it and some different content I favor more. I still love Java, but it’s also its own thing to me

I was originally looking into zero-tier or Tailscale instead, but all my friends joining me got scared when I mentioned them because they “looked scary and like corporate stuff”, so I just relented. Hamachi doesn’t seem to be morally bankrupt as far as I can tell and there’s native Linux at least, so I’m not sacrificing too much. That 5 player limit though… I’m glad we don’t have more than maybe 4 people

I played a little against bots but I didn’t get a chance to play an actual death match game. It was fun what little I did play though

It feels weird to look at. Like. When I started it was just me sifting through my backlog of old screenshots going “this would be fun to share with people” and it’s basically grown from that too a whole mini write up on different games spanning almost 2 years. It’s a hell of a thing to look back on

I’ll have to look into it! I don’t remember if it plays the soundtrack or not but music is a huge part of my enjoyment in games so I’d love too have it if not

The game is, yes. The achievements though are baked into RetroArch and connect to Retro Achievements. It’s a really fun thing to follow. I’d suggest trying it if achievements are your thing

I’ve played Infinite Fusion. I don’t think I could handle a Living Dex. The math alone would be some advanced level radicals I’m too tired to calculate. I do have some funny Pokemon from it though, like a Shits.
