While that’s true, I’m still a bit astounded that absolutely zero Middle Eastern countries seem to care about the CCP’s suppression and quiet cultural genocide of the Uighur population
Every-fucking-body has something like that or worse (much worse, in some cases) going on or at least in their History.
So Egypt is hardly going to care about performative outrage from US-aligned nations about China’s very own Genocide when those nations themselves have done worse (in some cases way, way worse) and are currently supporting a vastly more murderous Genocide in the Middle East than whatever was done to the Uyghurs.
From Egypt’s point of view all the talk about the treatment of the Uyghur population in China from US-aligned nations is, as the Brits would say, the Pot calling the Kettle Black.
At this point, after 2 years of unwavering support of the mass murdering of children by the Israelis in Gaza, I doubt any non-Aligned nation cares in any way form or shape about the performative “humanitarianism” of US-aligned nations towards members of other alliances.
Egypt was and is very happy to blockade Gaza. The Saudis, UAE and a bunch more blockaded Yemen for ages. The Islamic State which commited a few genocides in the region was funded by the Golf States. Iran is financing a shit ton of genocidal groups around the region.
They really do not care about genocide. The population cares about Gaza, but the leadership does not.
Compare the actual genocide that’s unfolding in Gaza to Xinjiang. See the difference? That’s why.
Additionally, the level of repression in Xinjiang is baseline reality for anybody living in any of the American-backed monarchies and dictatorships of the MENA region, so it’s not even considered unusual to them.
Egypt helped blockading Gaza. Hell many were happy to blockade Yemen. The UAE currently finances a massive genocide in Sudan, which is certainly on a similar scale to Gaza.
The simple bloody truth is that similar to the West in MENA the governments do not care about genocide, but the people largely do.
Correct, but you’re missing the key point that all of those governments are US-backed puppet dictatorships that recieve billions in American aid to prop up their regimes. They’re being paid off for their silence on the genocide with guns, bombs and spyware they can use to suppress the people who want freedom for themselves and Palestine.
When you piss everyone off and leave a vacuum, someone always steps in to fill it.

Simple: it’s not their tribe. See also Yemen.
Muslims don’t give a shit about other Muslims, Uighur, Yemen.
See also Palestine.
