I’m using Firefox as my main browser and see a lot of websites which support passkeys but only with Safari and Chrome, but not Firefox.

Why is that? Is this because of the market share or the implementation?

Looks like Firefox has some different implementation ways than the other two, according to AuthGear https://www.authgear.com/post/passkeys-compatibility

I’m using passkeys in firefox with bitwarden and it works fine. How do they not work for you? Like what’s actually broken about it? Do they not get offered where other browsers work?

For me, Nintendo refuses to register passkeys on both desktop Firefox (Librewolf), and IronFox (on /e/OS). Something about unsupported browser of device.

I use FF and have a lot of sites that use them (Sony, Amazon, Logitech, etc ) and never had any issues with them.

My understanding is that Firefox can’t generate and store them by itself, it needs some other mechanism.
