Distro is more an alignment of philosophy between you and the distro. Something slowly updated but really stable? Debian. Something cutting edge, but with lots of guides? Arch, etc. etc.
Any of them can pretty much run any shell, DE or WM, and as that’s what you spend the most of the time interacting with, that’s a more personal touch point. The distro is really just the package manager that you regularly interact with, and thats easy enough to hide behind something like topgrade.
I have only used Sway for a few years and anything else feels bloated and slow to use to me now. I spent a long time tweaking to get it how I wanted both in terms of add ons and config, then setting the keyboard shortcuts that work for me. I even have a bunch of them configured on my actual keyboard on layers to make them even easier to activate.
Its worth the investment for me as its now transparent to my workflow. I run the same config across all my machines and its been a stable config for the longest time. Long term stability is the key for me.

I used to do an hour of power lifting in the morning, then after work, two hours of BJJ/Kickboxing/conditioning five days a week.
I didn’t start doing that, I built up to it over twelve hard months with heavy focus on base fitness and flexibility.
Needed a complete change in diet and mentality to do so. My diet was totally focused on training for the longest time, stupid mix/maxing such as eating lentils over rice due to lower sugar content and higher protein content.
It was also a massive help that I WfH and have a weights cage at home so that saved an enormous amount of time that I could reinvest in training.
I cannot train that hard now as I am too old to recover from that much training but I did so for more than a decade. Now I just focus on lifting every other day with stretching/yoga in between.

Their support for signal on their previous phone, my main use case to get one, was a bit spotty as well. If it does not work reliably then the phone is useless to me.
I do not trust them to support the phone properly which is a real problem if you are expecting me to pay for said support on subscription.

The apple silicon looks amazing, it would be my choice if I didn’t really dislike Tim Apple, and Apples excessive price gouging with storage and RAM pushing what would be a usable model for my requirements up significantly.
Equipping the base laptop with 256Gb of storage in the current year then charging how much to jump to even 512Gb, which is still pretty small amount, is a piss take.
They are are bad for RAM upgrade pricing, at least the base model has 16Gb. With both storage and RAM being soldered on, you are stuck either using external drives or cloud storage.
Second hand would be my pick, that way Apple do not see a penny of the money.

What I remember it was an app you could uninstall and then you had to clean up the certificate install. It was part of the factory image and would get installed as part of that. Lenovo provided instructions to remove it.
But again, I don’t use factory images or windows.
Yeah my countries market for used frameworks is tiny, I would be paying a significant premium if I could find one and likely getting one of the less desirable (to me) older models. I also really want a 16/15" device so its kind of limiting.
I dont use factory installed images from anybody, mostly because of this shit. I also dont use windows, not that I would trust a factory installed Linux either
I plan on going for a used Lenovo, something with as many generic, replaceable components as possible with as little soldered to the motherboard as I can get away with. I trust the workplace models to be more reliable and supportable long term than anybody else.
That way Lenovo do not see a penny of my money and I will only have a very very small upward impact on used prices due to the volumes of used Lenovos sold.
I wouldn’t buy a Dell because I wouldn’t trust the hardware, his position is just the icing. Whole reason I wanted the framework was because I wanted something to last a very long time, I simply do not trust Dell to provide support or parts long term.
The Tim Apple situation hurt, as I really liked the apple silicon for build quality and I had an old Intel Macbook that did indeed last a very long time (still boots even now). However their RAM/Storage pricing for what is an essential amount of storage for me mean even without Timmys boot licking making them a non starter.

So I pay monthly for a few streaming services, those are rarely worth the money, although Qobuz is pretty close. I could pirate my music or buy CDs and rip them, but that would be a huge hassle and expensive for the CD route as I like to listen to a lot of random artists.
Other services I pay monthly for that I think are good value are the National Trust and the RSPB. National Trust is particularly good value if you like looking at gardens/old houses, you save a fortune. RSPB works for me as I have two on my door step and just the car parking alone is almost the cost is the cost of the months membership.
