No, they’re really good about supporting old routers for as long as possible. For many years the best router to use with OpenWRT was this one from 2002 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linksys_WRT54G_series

Not yet but I made the event JSON used during federation the same as theirs so it will be easier in future.
PieFed has events in communities already so if you want to work on enhancing that or integration with Grancio that’s an easier route.

Yes, most of the Lemmy apps work with PieFed too. To varying degrees.

The json structure used during federation does not limit the kind of access control checks we can do.

Yes to the first but no to the second. Anyway the point is the ephemeral feeling is probably not so much because of the deletion (as it’s quite rare) and more to do with a lack of date filters on the search.
In PieFed you can set the search to order by recent instead of relevance which sometimes helps but being able to specify a date range while still sorting by relevance would be nice. I’ll add it to codeberg.
I just did some analysis.
3.3% of posts in the last week have been deleted (1.7% of comments).
PieFed rewrites the links to their local equivalent.

I’m probably going to switch to making smaller releases from now on (one big monster every 4-6 weeks contains too many changes for people to really absorb and understand) so 1.5 might be sooner than you expect.
