I love Graphene, because I seriously care about privacy. Everything works well but I also wasn’t a fan of having to find Google hardware. Second hand worked and next year I will consider the Motorola that will run Graphene.
Since you insist on Meta and Google Apps, you seem less concerned with hard privacy, so a Fairphone with e/OS could be a great choice. e/OS is nice too, I tried it for a while but found some laps in it’s privacy settings and I did not want to leak any location info to google.
If you don’t like it, you can revert to stock android, no problem.

Thanks, this is good to know. I’m in the process of upgrading my media setup and am playing around with Jellyfin to replace Plex. I’ve been reluctant to commit since Plex is easy and I have a lifetime pass, but this data collection is a great reason to finally be done with Plex

*based on odds on fucking polymarket. This is not news

Not quite, this particular paragraph was identical in the cold war era but the other paragraphs, mainly defining when it is in effect and when not, were changed. This made the law applicable since January 1st of this year. So previously this rule was only applicable during war or “conflicting times” and now it always is.

Eating out is expensive, I would recommend at least Fr.150 per person per day for food. That should cover 2-3 meals and a coffee, sweet treat, etc.
In Europe it’s normal that supermarket prices are significantly cheaper than restaurants. The people preparing our food deserve a living wage.
Sure there will be some fancy ski hut waiting for someone rich or drunk enough to shell out 100k for booze, but just because it exists doesn’t mean it’s the norm.
Germany: Just over 2€ per litre, that’s about $11/gal

While “mental retardation” was originally introduced as a medical term in 1961 for people with intellectual disabilities, in the decades since, the R-word has become an insult used all too commonly in everyday language. Those who use the R-word often do so with little regard for the pain it causes people with intellectual disabilities—and the exclusion it perpetuates in our society.

No need for the r slur and parents’ handed down phones going to kids is not as sensational as you seem to think

Except the US are still considered a safe country and asylum seekers have been denied and sent back.
Recently watched a doc about trans people fleeing the US to the Netherlands and not being succesful with their asylum requests despite the terror they face in several states.

Google and their big tech buddies made their choice by supporting Trump’s regime. I know actions have consequences is a concept that doesn’t apply in the US, but elsewhere it does. Deal with it.

The world has enough people selling garbage, shipped across the world to end up in a landfill or the ocean. No thanks

The Gaza war ended? The genocide of the palestinian people ended?
