Maybe. They may not have the experience to know. Stupid people deserve to live free from harm too, and we’re all a little stupid.

it’s actually remarkably easy to install and remove if you dont want it. Last time I used asahi it was cool but not ready for daily use. The m3 is a powerful little chip. I’d use that machine as my daily driver laptop whenever I needed it. Can do coding, music stuff, video editing, etc. I can do all that on my m1 pro, even!

I think there’s a bit of both: poorly optimized/antiquated sites and a gigantic spike in unexpected and persistent bot traffic. The typical mitigations do not work anymore.
Not every site is and not every site should have to be optimized for hundreds of thousands of requests every day or more. Just because they can be doesn’t mean that it’s worth the time effort or cost.

My friend and I tried to do Halo 1 legendary as a duo. There’s a level earlyish on where elites with invisibility and plasma swords flood your small room. After the second hour jiggle peeking those fuckers with plasma pistols, we finally cleared the room and moved on, only to enter a second room where elites with plasma swords and invisibility poured in 🥲
