I think the point being made is that if he dies you are very likely to get someone far worst in a time where things are already at the brink.

I think waltz went too easy on Vance. His answers felt generic and he didn’t keep Vance accountable for a lot of his lies. There were a couple of good gets like when he asked Vance if Trump lost the elections and Vance couldn’t answer, but I was definitely hoping for more
