I mean, I have an external hdd I keep a backup of important files on, and an ssd I use to transfer things onto a second computer, and it’s just a full backup of my primary pc.
Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.
Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.
Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

I combine the two.
Burn offline drm free installers onto blank cds.
Well… Dvds, I can fit some older games into cds but they don’t have the same capacity.

I’ve been burning cds with my offline installers on every game I can. Finding blank cds in physical stores is hard, I lucked out finding this stack brand new at a thrift store.
I would very much like to have a desktop with cd racks filling the frame around it again.

… Ew. That’s a gross sentiment.

lawn care
grow from there
Lol

As former enlisted, I wonder if at any point while floating to the ground they thought to themselves “holy shit, I’m gonna die in a desert for pedophiles, why did I go along with this?”
At least one gets to think twice for now, but I doubt they will.

a few minutes earlier
“hmm, I’m bored. Oh look here’s some people enjoying a small laugh. Imma shit on the fun. How DARE they enjoy a joke I personally don’t like. The FOOLS! THE ABSOLUTE MORONS! I simply MUST tell people their frivolity is absurd.”

Same. I found a funnel that fits perfectly in a plastic cup keep a couple rags in, and the cup is tied to my small can.
Got tired of spilling gas on my fingers.
I might need to make myself a little pump, since I already have everything I need and a 3d printer…

My gender-non-specific human, why do you insist on calling every single person here shitty for calling out BS reddit tactics?
Are you in love with their CEO or something? It’s a little weird.

I got banned from about 15 subreddits I never even knew existed once by calling out a transphobic dogwhistle, and when I inquired about the bans, the mods insinuated I was a child molester and neo-nazi.
Reddit mods don’t need to follow any sort of logic.
And confidently asserting someone is a dick because they got banned from a subreddit is hilarious, and should probably prompt some self-reflection.

My wife started out with tons of republican views, she just didn’t vote ever.
Through conversations about the state of things, pointing* out hypocrisy, and validating the feelings her religious family was telling her to suppress, I’m happy to say I’ve managed to marry a leftist. She didn’t even really have the liberal pit-stop many of us take.
I’ll take 100,000 leftists married/dating/whatever to 100,000 liberals over 200,000 conservatives any day of the week.

My grandfather passed a few years ago, and now that the house is up for sale we cleaned the last bits out.
I managed to grab a bunch of stuff that maybe Someday™ I’ll use. Mostly bits of metal I’ll possibly melt down or use for electroplating, a bunch of old steel tools that are in different states of disrepair, and assorted lengths of wire.
I know I will likely die before I find use for it all, but it seems wasteful to chuck it in the garbage, and I’d rather someone find use for it as is than take it to the scrapyard.

things that you can just take when no one is looking.
That applies to a great many things, and places!

The prosecution used the presence of the first aid kit they carried
Insane bullshit.
I have a kit with me every day of my life, and I’ve had to refill it many times due to using it on others.
It would be pure coincidence that I happen to be carrying a first aid kit on any given day, and if I’m going to a peaceful protest I’m bringing my trauma kit because the entire fucking world knows how cops treat protesters.

And the United States government, whose nuclear launch systems for decades had a default “0000000” password on systems so old they figured nobody would know how to hack them in person anymore, and they’re incompatible with the internet.
It’s disturbing to me that my high school hobby of fixing and operating old computers meant I could have launched nukes.

I’ve been managing to drag some of them further left, I think, through conversation about things.
A few are 100% on board with a union as long as I keep calling it “collective bargaining” and don’t use the scary U word.
A few are on board with most social safety nets, especially when they find out Healthcare would cost less than it currently costs them in taxes alone, let alone not having to pay for insurance anymore, but the second you call it socialism or use any sort of word like “welfare” then they panic.
Individually I think I’m breaking some of them, but collectively they’re fucking idiots.

There’s a pretty simple test, IMO
Ask a person “is bombing a school filled with children okay as long as the end goal brings about the end of the world?”
If they answer “yes” then just immediately drop them into a meat grinder and use the remains for fertilizer.
Maybe it’s my cynical side, but I genuinely don’t think people like that can be fixed, so while it might be considered “cruel” it’s better to just put them out of everyone’s (including their own) misery, a “nuthouse” just gives them a place to congregate and keep trying to spread their hate.

My coworkers have already managed to blame Obama for making a “shitty deal” with Iran, and Biden for not “dealing with Iran sooner”
It didn’t seem condescending to me.
Personally I like having my cds put of nostalgia. I don’t spend all that time making multiple cds for large games like horizon zero dawn because I think it’ll stand the test of time lol. Most of the cds I had when they were the standard aren’t functional anymore, but damn if I don’t enjoy it when my little usb disc tray pops out.
It’s generally correct to assume the average pc user doesn’t make backups of anything. I once had a friend call me to their house in a panic because their work laptop ate shit and they had absolutely nothing saved externally. With a recovery company, he managed to scrape about 10% of his client data, and their bank lost a looooooot of reputation over it. Now their laptops do company-wide backups to a single cloud service twice a day. (I asked what they’re gonna do if the cloud service goes down and the answer he gave was “look for a new job” lmao)
I have other backups, I just get nostalgic for the days of Command and Conquer.
