I think it’s a really important question though, and one that bears repeating again and again. AI was built on a complete disregard for consent, and that continued disregard makes it all very unconscionable.

Damn you aren’t kidding! It’s written weirdly past tense, too, for an article talking about a brand new game. “It became a cultural phenomenon”.
I definitely agree with this too
My opinion is that if your data or work is within an AI training set you should be given free access to any tools using that data. That’s only fair considering these companies also think everything should be free for them to take.
This is a key factor. It’s not possible to avoid being in their system at this point unless you live under a rock.
So many people shaming OP in here 😅
They never said they eat it all the time. Calm down everyone; let them enjoy themselves.
Some platforms offer better prices in exchange for a one-year subscription commitment, but tiered discounts based on subscriber loyalty are much less common.
It’s literally the opposite most of the time. The longer you stay the more expensive it becomes.
I never learned typing using any method, just years of practicing writing when I was younger. I think one of the biggest things that will increase your competence is to not look at the keyboard. Force your eyes away and just try to type. This will have more results if you’ve already gotten the basic key layout down at least a bit. You’ll make a lot of mistakes, and when you do try to not look, just move your finger to the next key over and try again. It’s a bit painful to do it this way, but it will make you much more comfortable over time.
I definitely think FO4 has much better gameplay than 3. I replayed Vegas a while back and while it’s an awesome game in so many ways, the gameplay feels archaic compared to 4. You can improve that some with mods but it’s never going to feel as good as the native solution.
4 has weak writing, there’s no doubt, but it improved on 3 in many ways I think. There are really only a couple areas where I think it regressed. Most others it far surpassed.
It’s pretty far from a realistic military shooter at this point, huh?
I’ve gotten very used to this little free app called Audio Switcher that makes it way easier to switch back and forth between speakers and my headphones.
Thanks for doing what I didn’t have time to!
Also available on GOG for those who prefer.
This one isn’t super new, but Druidstone. It’s a story based tactics game with some RPG elements and it’s just excellently done. I’ve never heard anyone else mention it and I think more people should know about it.
This is correct. Those captchas are tracking everything they can and comparing it to other results to try and figure this out. Mouse movement, delay before you click, everything.
Wow that was a great piece of journalism. Seeing it all aggregated like that I don’t think there can be any doubt that this guy was full of shit, even if what he was doing could be argued to be positive. He used marginalized communities to enrich himself, even if what he made had value, and that is just such a sad and horrible way to get there.
Why did he even feel the need to do so if he had something valuable to give back? This whole thing honestly makes me think of some catfish episodes over the years. The ones where people create such a complex web of fake profiles and don’t know how to stop.
It’s super hard to know this and there won’t be a consistent answer because everyone is different. You have to meet people where they are.
I think you did answer your own question on this one. I’ll also say that as a somewhat technical user but still not a heavily technical user like some people here, GitHub is a really baffling website. It’s hard to even figure out how to download something from it. I would strongly encourage anyone who wants to reach non-technical users to avoid GitHub. It’s made for programmers and it doesn’t make sense to anyone else without training.
Since you’re trying to build bridges with this post, I just want you to know that everything you mentioned in this comment is far beyond a non-programmer and sounds totally incomprehensible. It’s jargon soup. I don’t say this to dunk on you or anything, I just wanted to let you know how high your own skill level is, because it can be easy to forget sometimes. People without those skills won’t be able to follow this kind of explanation.
Hopefully it stays that way. I’ve read horror stories about buildings hiring HOA management companies out of nowhere who take over and turn things shitty. 😔
