A web app for the calendar could be handy… but I could just use another calendar app…
This sounds like a good solution. Can I set it to sync when I’m off my home network?
Ah ok, thanks
I suppose the biggest thing I’m looking for a solution for is photos.
I have my phone to set up to sync to iCloud, which then automatically download to my desktop, which is then automatically backs up via Time Machine.
How could I transition this behaviour to Linux keeping in mind I’ll be using an iPhone for at least another 3 years?
I just installed Mint and some games on 5 Thinkpad T420s my boss was going to throw out. Sunday’s LAN party was pretty fun.
Is this my future?
I dunno. It’s plugged in directly to the modem/router provided by my ISP while my wifi is provided by a separate mesh setup, which is also plugged in to the modem/router 🤷♂️
Yea same I don’t even care.
It’s an old laptop, I have a backup. Go ahead, fuck it up.
You can also pop your popcorn in plain undyed paper bags. Toss them in oil, put em in the bag, microwave.
The Zola algorithm is real
I don’t know, but good work!
I was going to try to host my music on Jellyfin, but I had an issue.
Since 2005 I’ve been curating my music collection with my old iPod that I still use.
I like my albums in release order so, with the iPod in mind, probably 80% of them are named [year] - [album]
Lidarr and Jellyfin won’t find them because of this and I don’t want to manually sort through 2000-some albums.
So I still use my iPod (20 years old next year!)
So many people angry about phones in here. Just let people like what they like. Yeesh.
I set a timer on your phone to match(ish) the timer on the air fryer
We have bins around our city for people to drop electronics off for recycling. I’ve taken a few laptops from there. You’re not supposed to, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
One I gave to my buddy who needed something just for emails and web browsing and whatnot, one is running a server, and a couple more went back in to the bin because they were actually broken, but I took the hard drives for the server machine. I have one on a self ready in case the server machine dies so I haven’t gone looking for any new ones in a while.
The best thing Europe could do is take those savings and use it to cover the salaries of a couple full time developers per country to help verify code and add new features.
It would be such a boon to the whole world.
It would be even cooler if we had a right to privacy
This sounds pretty cool. It seems similar in concept to a different 90s MMO I already play, Clan Lord. I’ll give it a shot later, but I don’t know if I can commit to twoMMOs
I care more about how little rich people pay more than I care about how much I pay. I also care about my tax dollars being wasted.
DOGE could actually be a good thing if it were actually looking through the functions of government to eliminate redundancies, waste, and leakage.
But nope, it’s run by a man child who uses his idea of economics (which is informed by right-wing memes) to eliminate government programs that actually help people and the economy.
I got the first 2 free with GwG (RIP) and the 3rd for $12 on sale.
Guess I‘m not a real fan.
You pretty much said what I would’ve said, but probably better :)
I have 3 Macs I want to switch to Linux, so I’m approaching this conversion piece by piece, using my thinkpads as placeholders. Figuring out new cloud software can wait until they’re all switched.
