Thats kind of what I am doing at the moment and i enjoy writing those scripts but i get so nervous running them. Even though I’m really confident they won’t break something i still feel I’m unlucky enough for the script to accidentally delete our prod dB.

That preserves most of my sanity. I dont actually find Lemmy interactions to be bad. Even the worst Lemmy interactions feel like there is an actual complex being on the other end of the keyboard.
When read a reddit threads it doesnt feel like real sentient beings. Shoutout to the beyond all reason subreddit for inflicting psychic damage on me every time i read a thread. Lemmy got a ton of traffic after the api black out and it did an incredible Job at retaining a lot of those users. There were 200k active users and Lemmy was much more unstable at the time. Active users did fall off as expected but 50k stayed for 2 years. Thats great in my opinion. If we had another migration wave I reckon the retention would be even higher.
For someone to switch from reddit to Lemmy three things need to happen
They need to know it exists
They need to dislike reddit or centralised corporate controlled social media on an ideological level.
They need something disruptive to happen. Either a ban or a change they dont like.
Oh yeah linux people have been building like crazy these past 10 years.
Sometimes the user experience is so slick its boring. But the great past of.linux is even when the usage is simple I can always tweak it or modify it to my exact liking.
On Mac it either works nicely or I’m fucked.

Be efficient with your calories. If you overeat and then you try to cut to 1800 but are still eating ice cream, chips, Starbucks. That 1800 is going to go so fast and you’ll still be hungry.
Eat lean protein, simple carbs a ton of veggies and drink lots of water. You can also reduce exercise intensity if you’re feeling super drained.
Another thing is to not try and cut to fast. Doing a 1000+cal deficit for weeks is going to wreck you. Better to go slow with 250 or 500 and take extra time.
At Christmas the topic of what videos we watch came up and I was shocked to hear over half the people there mention watching AI videos. Its insane, these are decent intelligent people watching shit like that stupid weightlifting cat and bigfoot vlogging. It seemed mostly because they couldn’t get rid of YouTube shorts but still. The family members who used Instagram had it way worse they only consumed reels slop and didnt watch any long form video. It was really are “we are so cooked moment”.
There are versions that ship with the proprietary nvidia driver. The reason people have issues is the distros shipping the open version due to philosophy or distros shipping the open version for compatibility reasons. The open version is worse but at least it works the proprietary version doesnt support a lot of cards.
Thats not actually a problem. Every other OS has that problem.
Mac will never get 100% market share because there will always be people that hate their workflow. Linux can offer a tailored version to everyone’s liking.
