I’m tired of this being treated like some complex puzzle, where every proposed solution only seems to create more problems. It’s actually very simple. HEY PUTIN: Stop shooting. GTFO of Ukraine. Return the Ukrainian people you’ve kidnapped. It’s just that easy!

This reminds me of when they first sent that innocent guy to El Salvador. The dictators of both ES and US were sitting side by side on the Oval Office, being asked by the “media” if they could send the guy back. Each dictator blamed it on the other one - while they were sitting side by side!

All they had to do was say, I’ll send him back if you’ll take him, and the other could say we’ll take him back if you’ll send him, and the guy could have been back with his family in a few hours.

Instead, they both acted like it was totally out of their hands. Do these dipshits actually run their countries, or not?

It’s a Muslim nation. Ask other Muslim nations, and you’ll see similar numbers.

Yeah, that thing with the Thai soccer team really opened my eyes. Later, I saw a documentary on the situation, and there was no way that his submarine idea could have worked, it simply would not have fit.

But rather than accept that those on the scene were more knowledgeable about the situation, he immediately jumped to calling the rescuers pedos, as if the only reason they wanted to rescue them was because they were young boys, and wanted to molest them. What an unhinged take, proving that he was more interested in playing the hero and feeding his ego, than actually rescuing anyone. He saw an opportunity for global promotion, and was pissed when it was denied to him.

It showed me a side that we hadn’t seen before, but turned out to be his real personality.

He’s trying to stay independent because he fantasizes about running for president one day. He even did a TV show where the framing device was him being interviewed as a presidential candidate, so they could show his life in flashbacks. It was an obvious ploy to position him as a legitimate political candidate in viewers’ minds.

Every rich and/or famous person now thinks they should be president.

Timing will be important. They’ll want the big violence to break out next summer, so he can declare Martial Law, and suspend the 2026 Midterm election.

America has never missed an election, even during the Civil War. Suspending an election is a big, bright red, flashing line. They do that, and it’s on for real.

I’m trying to figure out to move to another instance, and found my mod logs. Turns out a lot of my best posts have been deleted, often for stupid reasons. Apparently Lemmy isn’t much better than Reddit as far as tolerating free speech.

I managed to find a new instance, but my posts haven’t ported over. Looks like I’m starting over.

Why would a sovereign country, being attacked by a hostile neighbor, be required to inform ANYONE about their war plans? I wouldn’t inform anyone, even my friends. They’ll see it on the news, like everyone else.
