the buttcoin sub is decent
Dokploy is the only one ive found with easy to setup multiple server management, if you can install it manually you can install it there and manage it easily, (horizontal scaling and using one panel to manage multiple vps) It just requires more technical knowledge than yunohost or runtipi.
Runtipi only has mastodon and gotosocial by default, but if those are what you need it’s good, no multiserver management. Yunohost with netdata to monitor on two different vps, is what I’m going with for now, I rented a 3rd vps because I have no self control so im going to learn dokploy and hopefully just use that to control all of them eventually, if I can get them setup on dokploy its easy to migrate them later.
Yeah, I had to renew through a setting in yunohost, got used to panels/managers doing it automatically or letting me paste it in
Yeah I had to click renew manually in yunohost, just assumed if porkbun showed it as valid it would work, my panels for wordpress mightve been doing it automatically lol
yes https://lemmy.rip/ works fine
forsure I thought it had one through porkbun but yunohost might be messing with that
I was posting when I should’ve been lurking lol, half my posts/comments as a kid are gibberish
Are there any fediverse games at all?
Corporations might accidentally help if they try to make their own instancss, like if you sign up with google to join the fediverse, realize most instances block googles because its corporate, then they make an account at non corporate version.
I think the best way for it to grow would be making it easy to self host, yunohost maes it pretty easy, but more managed hosting options competing or more of the big ones offering it would go a long way.
Cosmos’s lemmy app is outdated and doesn’t work, yunohost is the only webclient type thing I’ve tried that has lemmy and works. Yunohost also has most other services like sharkey, pleroma, peertube, etc. and lets you easily install multiple services on one server with different domains. Only downside is it doesn’t have multiserver management like the rest, but the rest have no app support for fediverse stuff outside of mastodon.
If you don’t know how to do a lot of the docker stuff yourself, coolify, dokploy, runtipi, etc. aren’t really a possibility, they don’t work with ansibile, or the easy install without modifications (that idk how to do, I have yet to suceed)
What do you use for torrents, after rarbg died I became dependent on tracker addons
This is dirrectly from the torrents tho? So torrentgalaxy or whatever tracker that torrent came from would be the issue
Was it for anime? Stremio with an anime plugin works decent, but you do gotta pay for realdebrid for it to be fast.
My issue with a lot of these solutions is just being new and not knowing what im doing, like outside of hetzner im not sure how to specify a seperate volume, the way these services are worded Im nervous about losing all my data by not doing the file/mount stuff correctly.
caprover seems difficult to use, so do coollify and dokploy, might need to learn more about dockercompose, definitely doing some stuff wrong.
Currently checking out coolify, dokploy, runtipi, and cosmos. Cosmos is the only one I’ve found other than yunohost with lemmy in the appstore that lets you selfhost.
Does fediverse have good normie stuff? My friends use x mostly for discussing sports.
Bluesky really swooped in with their marketing, that shift shouldve gone to mastodon.
Reddit mods suck, reddit karma system sucks for new users so we have that over them (they can barely comment and cant post), reddit censors all the time at least once most ppl have been temp banned or had a comment/post removed that they thought wasn’t controversial. The algorithim is forcing controversy, cant avoid negative subreddits, your subscribed feed will show you stuff you arent subscribed to from communities that you downvote.
Reddit just has the ppl that have been there forever and are addicted to answering questions for dopamine hits. Whats annoying is reddit tends to have ppl that are at the intermediate level of each niche so the advice/info they give gets popular and parroted while it may not be the best.
Major issue with reddit is shills and bots, you cant trust reccs on their anymore, gotta look through profile history, might be slightly better here due to them not targetting us.
How do iceshrimp and misskey compare? Can’t find much info on it.
