Why are these batteries not called 11Ah batteries?
If I had to guess, it’s because “11000mAh” looks better on marketing materials. Not to mention that pretty much all batteries have been presented that way. Why 7.8aH instead of 7800mAh?
Also, why mAh when it just tells you about current/time rather than capacity? That should be given in Wh.
Especially since there’s high voltage lithium batteries, which are now common in smartphones.For example, I have a bit of insane phone, Armor 24.
It has a 22,000mAh battery, but with a nominal voltage of 3.87V rather than standard 3.7V. Indeed, if you look at the battery, it claims 85.14Wh, which means the 22Ah was calculated for 3.87V. For standard 3.7V, that would be 23,010mAh.What the hell are we even comparing? It’s like comparing water tank capacity by how long you can leave the water running, rather than volume.
Yeah it’s a mystery. I never really understood it either.
