This is partially a rant and partially a cry for help

I’m just wondering if anyone’s got any links to sites to browse housing that don’t make you feel like you’re a fish in a tank full of sharks…? Like seriously, I hit a button to request a viewing of a house and they auto-created me an account, added the house to my “favorites”, and now I’m getting spammed by the site and an unnecessary amount of “Agents”. Very overwhelming.

Like for fucks sake, I’m just trying to see what I can get for my price range in person. I don’t have favorites. If it’s not outrageously priced and doesn’t look like trash, I’d like to see it. But they capitalize on their pretty AI-edited pictures, give you anxiety by spamming you, and send someone to the house with you that tries WAY too fucking hard to make you feel good in any way possible. It all feels wrong. I want to cut out as much bullshit as possible. (Yes, I’m aware somebody has to show me the house… so obviously that part can’t be cut out).

Seriously, if I’m planning to go into debt to secure a place to live, chill the fuck out and let me spend time finding the right place motherfuckers. I’m not trying to be rushed into a decision that ruins my life just so you can make more in commission for that month.

So back to my question, does anybody know of any websites or services that scrape these disrespectful, mass data-collecting, shithole websites, or are they my only option?

Alternatively, does anybody have suggestions on the best way to go about house hunting without feeling like you’re a target or a “sale to be made”? I’m feeling paranoid about this and really don’t want to be taken advantage of in such a major decision.
