Well thanks for the mystery. Terms with what? Isreali funding? Massive gamehouses fucking over employees? Global financial instability? Bizzare “to ai” or “not to ai”
Question is loving rent free in my fucking broke ass brain
At first I assumed you hadn’t read the article and I almost mocked you for it. Then I decided to read the article first, and learned that the information is not in the article.
You were going to mock someone for not reading the article without having read the article?
Yes, which is why they didn’t do that.
Why are people always so shocked at honesty on the internet?
That person doesn’t know us and shouldn’t care what we think. So they can be honest they almost did something stupid.
Asking if they really admitted to almost doing something stupid is a million times dumber. Did you really need to ask to be sure, or did you just get giddy because you felt smarter?
You’re likely not smarter, just too stubborn to admit under any conditions you almost made a poor choice so now you want to pile on the person who admitted it…
Which is why I’m bothering to make this comment:
You’re perpetuating a giant social issue. Owning up to real or even almost poor decisions is something that everyone should feel comfortable admitting. There is nothing wrong with that and sharing it allows the group to learn from the experience.
And if society at large is “the group” we sure as shit need to start trying something besides blond confidence and a refusal to admit we’re not perfect.
Can I be honest, I didn’t read your comment. Way too long, no pictures. You made a good point in the first sentence though.
Your comment getting downvoted… the irony…
Hah! Note to self, meta shit posts don’t sell like they used to. Need to find a new source for those micro-dopamine hits
Have you heard of our Lord and Saviour, Heroine?
They were going to but did not. I’ll defend the people who don’t though: most articles are shit and filled with tons of rambling contextual nonsense just to arbitrarily extend their length. They’re also often not the original source of the content, and trying to find the original is a pain in the dick because 90% of the links just link back to their own site, if there even is a link to the original at all. That’s why I often add synopses to posts but I wish the people who posted them would add them instead…
Seems a bit hypocritical indeed.
Well, this is the internet after all…
I never really understood why people feel the need to act like that towards one another online. Mocking each other, being sarcastic, name-calling and whatnot.
I say, let’s act towards each other like we would act towards another person on the bus, at work. People we don’t normally talk to or know well, but who we come across. I think most of us wouldn’t talk like that towards strangers IRL. Or at least I should hope not.
If we can be kind when anonymous IRL, we can be kind online I’m the same way. I’d say that’s worth striving for.
Agreed 100%
I was just making a bit of a joke… 👍
Yeah sure, I wasn’t having a go at you or anything, just to be clear. 😁 It just came to my mind via your comment is all.
Take care!
It’s fair. Most don’t read.
That’s just it, he posted this dribble on his LinkedIn; it’s where “professionals” can vaguepost about dissatisfaction and anger without sounding mad as hell.
He needs another job, so he can’t go apeshit. Wish he would though… that’d be fun to read lol
VaguebookingVaguelinking.

This is the most correct reply to this article that I’ve seen so far
Epic/Unreal Engine announced they’re getting rid of their much loved visual scripting language: Blueprints. In favour of an interactive LLM based content generator - focused on creating a “Metaverse” for Fortnite.
Basically they’re focusing on AI content generation and want users of the engine to make Fortnite into Roblox.
Ya. Wtf. I mean probably AI but what a fucking nothing burger article.
Question is also loving in my fucking ass brain.
The original relevant text:
I feel like this era has come to a close, and it is time to move forward. The industry is in a very interesting place. The games industry has always been an industry where change is relentless and inevitable, but it feels like we are reaching a pivotal point now and a potent mix of things.
As much as I love the old way of working, I think it would be strategic to come to terms with where this is heading, and to work out how to adapt and excel at solving the challenges and opportunities that we face.
A bunch of cryptic nonsense. Saying it’s turning to shit without saying it, is my takeaway.
Seems he’s alluding to AI but it’s unclear why he wouldn’t just say that…
The Fortnitification of UE is mentioned but he doesn’t really point to that as a reason either.
The article doesn’t describe the nature of the pivotal moment, or what De Jong is coming to terms with.
I’m really concerned that when (not if) the AI bubble pops it’s going to take a lot of companies with it.
I want to seen it pop soon now. I can’t wait.
As someone who has lived through a few of these, I hope you don’t have any money tied up in a 401K, because it will get wiped and will take decades to recover. 😉
Was there ever a time when PC Gamer wasn’t utter shit? Like, what the fuck is this article even saying? And what justification do they have to tag the end of Sjoerd’s LinkedIn quote with info about UE’s move into AI slop?
Is this what games journalism is now? Stalking LinkedIn pages and reporting when 2 lines of text are edited? And then drawing conclusions not at all supported by said text? 😒
It was probably a rhetorical question, but it used to be better than now, but even a couple decades ago it was a subpar magazine.
