        Yes, and many regions currently ban any phone usage while driving, including taking phone calls. A hands-free system makes this task much easier.

            Why don’t you stick your phone in your pocket or a cupholder and then make that phone call.

                    New York and California, to name a few.

                    But that’s beside the point. YOU are allowed to use YOUR phone microphone if YOU want. And in that same vein, OTHERS are allowed to use THEIR built-in hands-free systems. You don’t have to like it. But acting like a gatekeeper and soapboxing over it is just weird.
