I gotta do the same on my mountain bike - derailleur front and rear need adjustment, the little window to see what gear you’re in is faded over, and the chain is a little rusty. My front suspension forks have a bit of rust too

I believe he’s saying your bare feet (way of saying your feet hurt in the south is “my dogs are barking” or “my dogs are tired”).
