Too late, I’m fully stuck in on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and I do not have room for anything else in the “big, open world RPG with swords and armor and shit” genre.

I have learned this over the last week. I got it on sale just after Christmas and basically spent the whole week playing it.

I think I’ve done like 1 of the main quests and have just been fucking around with side quests. But it’s been so fun.

… seriously? So then they’ve fixed that combat with multiple people? Because that, in the first game was absolutely atrocious.

EZ, just cast red rune to create 1v1s and green rune to protect yourself from ranged attacks

It’s the Witcher 1 but redone in the Witcher 3 engine. They’ve reimplemented the combat rhythm minigame and the ‘sex cards’ are all in HD.

The remake is made by another studio, but I think they’ve been using Unreal Engine for all new projects

Edit: now that I think of it, if it’s the same studio, the Witcher 1 remake could be done as a DLC for TW3 (so indeed with the RedEngine)

In my opinion, there are two ways to deal with that (well, three, but the third is “shrug and find something else to do”):

Playing on easiest difficulty makes the combat a non-issue, little more than set dressing, and allows you to focus on story and exploration. The combat would still bore you, but at least it would be over quicker.

Playing on the second hardest difficulty makes combat challenging enough to scratch the same itch as Dark Souls et al. do for me, but that’s obviously a matter of personal taste. Full on Deathmarch is even better for that, but I’m not convinced it’s a good idea for a first playthrough.

If neither works for you, shame, but it can’t be helped.

They are. One of the game’s strengths, in my opinion, is the lack of empty filler and fetch quests. All the quests are voiced with original lines and they’re basically mini-stories, every last one of them.

I don’t like the combat system either, that’s why I always put it on the easiest setting, so I don’t waste time with it and just play it for the story. Let’s put it this way: Amazing story but bad combat? I can sit through that easily. Good combat with a terrible story? EW NO GET IT AWAY. Combat is like the least important thing for me in games. :D

I was the other way around (kinda). I didn’t mind the combat, though it also wasn’t anything special. The story was alright, but the 3-way split ending and how they used to pick which you got was complete horseshit, and it completely ruined the experience.

Add to that, I found the 2 previous games to be very disappointing as well. I don’t understand how the first game wasn’t a complete flop.

So CDPR has screwed me out of 3 games. Well, they owe me and they’re blacklisted until that changes. Unless they send me a free copy of CP2077 out of the blue they won’t see another dime from me ever again

I am not into FPS and CP2077 really clicked with me. The combat is pretty fun and versatile, graphics and soundtrack are amazing and the story is captivating.

I wonder, it’s it free and part of their marketing plan for Witcher 4?

I’ll take that bet. All of their expansions have been paid DLCs. Would be odd if the last one wasn’t.

I only own the PS4 version, and I certainly am not looking to re-visit it, but if the DLC is free (or free at least for the GOTY edition) then I think I would!
