Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said there will be no more wars after Ukraine if Russia is treated with respect - and claims that Moscow is planning to attack European countries are “nonsense”.

Before the war, ordinary Russians were slowly getting fed up with Putin. As per the dictator’s playbook, Putin is stoking the base tribalism of the citizens to distract them from his government’s own corruption. The world respects Russia, it’s only that the world doesn’t respect him.

And by “respect,” he mans capitulation and servility.

I’m surprised he didn’t demand thanks for the restraint Russia has exercised by not having defeated Ukraine yet.

On 5 December 1994, at a ceremony in Budapest, Ukraine joined Belarus and Kazakhstan in giving up their nuclear arsenals in return for security guarantees from the United States, the UK, France, China and Russia.

    This aged like fine milk.

We did and you started wars. First end those wars and start acting more respectable.

What a hilariously worthless statement given how many of his promises Putin has ever kept: Zero.
