Only if it’s not cooked properly. Anyone that feels this way has an open invitation to enjoy brined, compound butter seasoned, spatchcocked goodness at my place. Treat a turkey with love, and it’s delicious!
While it is incredibly difficult to keep the breast meat properly hydrated (even I find the best turkeys seem dry with their white meat), another commenter is absolutely correct - a properly done turkey will have absolutely succulent and tasty brown meat. To the point where adding any garnish or gravy is almost an insult.
A thermometer and using foil to protect the breast during cooking is really helpful! I’m a dark meat fan, generally, but some mindful cooking can produce juicy and tender white meat.
Turkey is fucking DRY and flavorless.
brine it overnight and cook it properly.
it’s a game changer.
