An orc died by its own blade, and all the other orcs rose up in ululation, for the irony was not lost upon them, and the truth hurt.

Driving a car isn’t optional for most people. Similarly, not eating meat can be onerous in our culture. Both cars and meat eating fall under the so-called Plight of the Commons.

By contrast, taking a cruise ship is a gratuitous act of evil.

I’m sorry what - after that poetry about orcs, you seriously still eat meat and justify it with this self-serving excuse? No it is not onerous. You don’t even have to tell anyone. It’s easy and cheaper.

We can go back and forth on purity tests that conveniently favor ourselves, cheering at the deaths of commons… or you can direct your anger at systemic change that can actually help. Inb4 worthless bitter nihilism.

I’m vegan, but I don’t blame people for eating meat. I do blame them for using cruise ships.

If you can’t understand the difference between merely participating in society and deliberately making it worse, maybe you really are an orc.
