This does not really cover the question but the use of companies pushing stuff by using the term viral the way a high school student council poster would use popular. Its like they do something online and of course its practically impossible to have zero participation in stuff (especially if you pay “influencers” to shill for it) and then call it viral even though the majority of folks didn’t participate and don’t care.
